Kurukshetra University was established as a unitary residential university in 1956 in the Haryana state of India. The 65-Year-old university has an alumni base of lakhs and counts come of notable personalities like Late Jagjit Singh & Anu Singh Lather.
On 19th August, the official Kurukshetra University Alumni Platform, https://kukaa.kuk.ac.in/, powered by AlmaShines, was launched by Hon’ble CM, Haryana Shri Manoharlal Khattar.
On the occasion, Dr. Kanwal Garg, Deputy Director of Kurukshetra University, stated that the platform has been launched to bring a common place for all Kurukshetra University Alumni to connect with their professors, find their batchmates, cherish their memories and build an everlasting bond with their alma mater.
When he was asked about the response that has been received by the alumni, he stated “Alumni are very excited about the platform and some of its features. We had set a target of registering 17,000 alumni members in the first year, but have already registered 15,000 alumni in just 7 days of its launch, well, it seems like with AlmaShines we’ve built exactly what our alumni wanted.”
When asked about what led the university to decide upon having an alumni platform after so many years, Dr. Garg shared “ We were planning to connect with our alumni for quite some time and we’re exploring options for the same. We connected with two organizations, including AlmaShines. The wide variety of features, continuous product-related assistance from the onboarding team, and prompt response to our queries from AlmaShines made it a clear choice for us. “

According to Dr. Garg, Kurukshetra University looks forward to seeking immense support from the alumni in terms of infrastructure and educational development. Further, the university also looks forward to the alumni stepping forward to mentor current students of the university to help them ace in their upcoming career paths.
