Back to Where It Began: A Reunion That Brought Broadridge Ex-Employees Back Together

Most reunions end when everyone heads home. Broadridge wanted this one to be different.

To bring former employees back together, Broadridge created BRidgeback Nexus, an alumni reunion built around what its alumni said they wanted. They helped choose the host city, shared what would make the event worth attending, and asked for a way to stay in touch after it ended.

The result was more than a one-day gathering. It gave ex-employees a chance to reconnect, share experiences, and continue those conversations even after the reunion was over.

Beyond the Invite List: How Broadridge Found Its Way Back to Its People

Plenty of companies treat a reunion like a box to check: pick a date, book a venue, send the invites, hope alumni turn up. Broadridge took a different starting point. Instead of guessing what would bring its former employees back through the door, it decided to ask.

The real challenge wasn’t reach, Broadridge hadn’t lost touch with its alumni. It was that nobody had ever asked them what “coming back” should actually feel like. So before a venue was locked in, before a single piece of creative was designed, the team did something most reunions skip entirely: they found out what ex-employees actually wanted first, using AlmaShines’ platform built for corporate alumni communities.

BRidgeback Nexus: A Reunion That Didn’t End When the Day Did

The event itself, BRidgeback Nexus, was built around a simple insight from the survey responses: alumni didn’t just want an event, they wanted a relationship. So Broadridge extended the experience well beyond the four walls of the venue using the Nexus Lounge, a dedicated group module that let attendees connect with each other before they’d even arrived, receive real-time updates and countdown content, and keep the conversation going long after the lights went down.

It worked the way good design always does, quietly. A live poll asking attendees what they were most excited about turned passive registration into active anticipation. A chat feature let old colleagues find each other again before the actual handshakes happened. And the mobile app, promoted through the entire campaign via email and creative content, became the place where the Broadridge ex-employee community didn’t just attend an event, it kept living.

Strategy Over Execution

The reunion was planned with ex-employee input from the very beginning. Before finalizing the event, Broadridge gathered feedback from former employees through a custom survey hosted on the Broadridge portal. Ex-employees shared their preferred event location, the kind of experience they were looking for, and their interest in CSR activities. The responses were analyzed and shared with the Broadridge team to help shape the event.

Once the direction was finalized, AlmaShines supported the campaign by:

  • Creating the reunion event on the platform
  • Rolling out a targeted email campaign to invite and engage ex-employees
  • Using the platform’s mailing tool to send invitations, reminders, and event updates
  • Managing communication throughout the campaign to keep ex-employees informed

BRidgeback Nexus Lounge

To make the reunion experience more engaging, Broadridge created the BRidgeback Nexus Lounge using the AlmaShines Group Module. The group became a dedicated event hub where attendees could:

  • Connect with fellow ex-employees before arriving at the reunion
  • Receive important event updates, announcements, and countdown posts
  • Access event creatives and other resources in one place
  • Participate in chats and polls that built excitement ahead of the event
  • Stay connected with fellow attendees even after the reunion concluded

Rather than serving only as an event communication channel, the Group Module enhanced the overall reunion experience by giving attendees a single space to interact before, during, and after the event. The campaign also promoted the AlmaShines mobile app through email communications and event creatives, making it easier for alumni to access the event and stay connected with the Broadridge alumni community.

“Khushi was instrumental in ensuring our reunion campaign was executed smoothly from start to finish. From coordinating timelines and campaign communications to supporting event activities and resolving every requirement promptly, she kept everything on track. Her proactive approach, attention to detail, and commitment to delivering a seamless experience made her a trusted partner throughout the event.”

What Ex-Employees Actually Said

The campaign asked ex-employees to put their reactions on paper, literally. And what came back wasn’t polished marketing copy, it was the real thing.

“Broadridge is my first love of my career life. Thank you again.”

— Siddhi Edukondal

“Thank you for the invite. It recollected my memories, very happy to see Broadridge office again.”

— Thanmayi, Ajay

“Very well organized event, and great to see many smiling faces with refreshing memories. One of its kind!! Great job!!”

“Looking for more opportunities to connect.”

What started as a question, where would ex-employees want to reconnect, and what would make it worth coming back for, became a campaign that didn’t just bring ex-employees into a room. It gave them a reason to stay connected after they left it.

“The platform gave us the ability to truly understand our ex-employees before planning the reunion. Its sentiment analysis capabilities, custom survey module, communication tools, and community features helped us gather meaningful insights, make data-driven decisions, and create an experience that reflected what our ex-employees actually wanted. It transformed the reunion from a one-time event into the beginning of an ongoing ex-employee community.”
